Why ScrollKurai exists

The idea for ScrollKurai didn't come from a business plan. It came from watching potential fade away.

Growing up in India, I saw something that troubled me deeply: brilliant people—friends, classmates, people with real ability—losing hours every day to endless scrolling. Not because they lacked ambition, but because the tools designed to capture attention were simply too effective.

The turning point was personal. A close friend of mine failed his final exams. Not because he wasn't capable, but because he couldn't step away from his phone. He'd tried every app locker on the market. None of them worked for more than a few weeks.

That's when I understood something:

We've been solving the wrong problem.

The issue isn't access to distracting apps. It's the absence of mental discipline to self-regulate. App locks treat symptoms. What's needed is something that addresses the root cause—building the internal strength to make better choices.

ScrollKurai is that attempt. A system designed not to restrict, but to teach. Not to shame, but to strengthen.

I launched on October 15, 2025—APJ Abdul Kalam's birthday—because his words still guide me: "Dream is not what you see in sleep. It's something that doesn't let you sleep."

This is my contribution to the India he imagined.
